Bloggers get a life!

Dateline: Wed 16 Jul 2008

or at least, we get a conference, Blog Indiana 2008. The dates are a month from today, Aug. 16-17 and IUPUI's Campus Center, 420 University Blvd.

The idea is to spur on bloggers, both us old dogs and newbies. Lots of speakers provide a variety of topics: ethics, legal issues, building readership, podcasting, getting organized, and on and on.

My topic for my session is "If you can't take the heat, don't tickle the dragon." That's tickle, as in tease, and that's dragon, as in the big old media dinosaurs such as the Gannett Co.

If you've been reading blogs and think you'd like to start your own, this would be an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded people. If you're already in the game, come and meet all your other friends in nursery school (where we are all friends).

Cost is $49 for two days. The IU School of Informatics is one of the sponsors. For more info, just visit the virtual HQ:
